Autodiefstal neemt weer toe

De dalende trend in autodiefstal is na tien jaar ten einde. Vorig jaar werden 11.761 personenauto's gestolen en zijn er 365 meer dan in 2012. Dat blijkt uit cijfers van de Stichting Aanpak Voertuigcriminaliteit (AVc). Volkswagen blijkt het meest populaire merk onder autodieven, want daarvan werden 3.437 auto's gestolen. BMW komt op de tweede plaats (1088) gevolgd door Mercedes (852), Opel (635) en Audi (617). Een opvallende stijger in de diefstalstatistiek is Lexus. In 2011 werden er daarvan slechts vier gestolen, in 2012 al 25 en vorig jaar liefst 113. Vooral de RX 450h was erg populair. Ook Land Rover mag zich verheugen in een groeiende populariteit, want het aantal diefstallen daarvan steeg van 40 naar 74. Het meest in trek bij dieven zijn auto's tot drie jaar oud, want daarvan werken er 3506 ontvreemd. De diefstal van motorfietsen steeg in 2013 van 1.807 naar 1.963. Een forse stijging van het aantal diefstallen viel ook te noteren bij de lichte bedrijfsauto's en wel van 2.180 in 2012 tot 2.501 in 2013. Bij zware bedrijfsauto was er een dalende trend. Daar nam het aantal diefstallen af van 247 naar 188. Ook het aantal ontvreemde aanhangers en opleggers daalde.

The 4.6 HSE, also known as P38A, was the second generation Range Rover, almost a quarter of a century after its debut. That meant that now we were in the 90s, and the concept of SUV had dramatically changed. People didn’t put off-road capabilities at the first place, instead they asked for luxury and comfort. During the design stage, several firms were contacted, and Bertone even made a full scale model, but at the end they opted for the classic British style, rightfully so. The 4.6 HSE gave exactly that (the HSE stands for “High Specification Equipment”), for instance it had an advanced, yet very troublesome, air suspension system, powered by the 4.6L V8, that would produce 225 hp and 280 ft-lb of torque. On the inside, it was basically a living room, so much in fact that in 1996 debuted the possibility of ordering one with a television and video system with VHS player. It was without a doubt the best off-roader in the world at the time of its debut, although unfortunately its cutting-edge electronics had plenty of faults, but it helped set the bar of what a luxury SUV should be. ? @iamted7
