Polestar Precept: zo zien de Polestar-modellen van de toekomst eruit

Polestar geeft alle details van haar Precept prijs. De auto is een studiemodel, maar veel van het ontwerp en technologie komen terug in toekomstige modellen van het nieuwe Zweedse merk.

“De Precept toont waar we naartoe gaan - onze ontwerprichting, onze ambities over duurzaamheid en de geweldige digitale gebruikerservaring die onze toekomstige modellen zullen bieden. De Precept toont onze toekomst, niet als een mooie droom of iets uit een sciencefictionfilm. Dit is onze realiteit die komen gaat”. Met deze zinnen presenteerde Polestar-CEO Thomas Ingenlath in het Zweedse Göteborg de Polestar Precept. De Precept lijkt dus niet zomaar wat luchtfietserij, maar zit vol met ontwerpdetails en technologie die we binnen afzienbare tijd in nieuwe Polestar-modellen zullen zien terugkomen.

Duurzaam interieur

De Polestar Precept legt via nadruk op duurzame materialen. Zo is het interieur veganistisch en bestaat het voor een aanzienlijk deel uit gerecyclede materialen. In de Polestar 2 zien we dat ook al, al gaat de Precept weer een stapje verder. Composieten op basis van vlas vervangen bijvoorbeeld plastic. Het materiaal is bovendien een stuk lichter. De stoelbekleding is gemaakt van één draad van 100% gerecyclede PET die 3D-geweven is. En de tapijten zijn gemaakt van oude visnetten. De zitkussens en hoofdsteunen bevatten op hun beurt gerecyclede kurken.

Eye-tracking en naderingssensoren

Het Android-infotainmentsysteem uit de Polestar 2 is verderverbeterd en de 15-inch digitale interface herkent de bestuurder als hijnadert. Naderingssensoren passen eveneens de instellingen op het scherm aan,afhankelijk van waar de bestuurder zijn hand op het scherm plaatst. Het aparte bestuurdersdisplaywerkt op basis van eye-tracking. Even videobellen is evenmin een probleem.Vanzelfsprekend werkt die functie alleen als de auto geparkeerd staat.

Ontwerp

Opvallend designdetail van de Precept is de geïntegreerde voorvleugel die de luchtstroom over de motorkap versnelt. Ook heeft het Polestar-studiemodel luchtkanalen achter de voorwielen voor betere aërodynamica. De koplampen nemen een meer robotachtige, Polestar-stijl aan, aldus het merk. Daarnaast beschikt de auto over een verlichting die welkomst- en afscheidsbegroetingen mogelijk maakt. De verlichting is geïnspireerd op de astronomie, zo klinkt het. Een lichtflits straalt vanuit het midden van de auto naar buiten.

The 4.6 HSE, also known as P38A, was the second generation Range Rover, almost a quarter of a century after its debut. That meant that now we were in the 90s, and the concept of SUV had dramatically changed. People didn’t put off-road capabilities at the first place, instead they asked for luxury and comfort. During the design stage, several firms were contacted, and Bertone even made a full scale model, but at the end they opted for the classic British style, rightfully so. The 4.6 HSE gave exactly that (the HSE stands for “High Specification Equipment”), for instance it had an advanced, yet very troublesome, air suspension system, powered by the 4.6L V8, that would produce 225 hp and 280 ft-lb of torque. On the inside, it was basically a living room, so much in fact that in 1996 debuted the possibility of ordering one with a television and video system with VHS player. It was without a doubt the best off-roader in the world at the time of its debut, although unfortunately its cutting-edge electronics had plenty of faults, but it helped set the bar of what a luxury SUV should be. ? @iamted7
